Nominees Announced for 2009 Chapter Leadership Positions

The West Virginia Chapter Nominating Committee has released their slate of nominees for 2009 chapter officers, directors, and representatives. They are as follows:

Chapter Participates in West Virginia Association of Realtors® Trade Show

On September 25 - 27, the West Virginia Chapter attended in the 90th Annual West Virginia Association of Realtors® Convention. Special thanks go to Dean Dawson, SRA; Tyke Wilson, SRA; Jerry Thornton, SRA and Whit Darby, SRA for their help organizing and manning the chapter booth at the accompanying convention trade show. Volunteers distributed information to convention attendees about Appraisal Institute membership, designations, education, and affiliate resources.

West Virginia Members' Voices Heard at Regional Appraisal Institute Meetings

Tyke Wilson, SRA (West Virginia Chapter President) and Whit Darby, SRA (West Virginia Chapter Secretary/Treasurer) attended the Appraisal Institute's 2009 Regional Meetings on behalf of West Virginia Chapter membership. Tyke traveled to Austin, TX in June for the first Regional Meeting of the year, and Whit recently returned from the second Regional Meeting held in Williamsburg, VA.

During these meetings, attendees learned of latest legislation affecting the appraisal industry and discussed the state of the Appraisal Institute. As representatives from the West Virginia Chapter, both Wilson and Darby had the opportunity to communicate the desires and concerns of local members to national Appraisal Institute leadership.

In 2009, the first Regional Meeting will be held in May in Indianapolis, IN. The second will be held in November in Cancun, Mexico. This meeting will be held in conjunction with the annual meeting for FECISVAL (Federación de Colegious, Institutos y Sociedades de Valuadores de la República Mexicana, A. C.), a professional appraiser organization in Mexico.
